ALTO is the only premium forum joining leading educational travel agents, language schools, academic and high school programme providers, universities, national and international associations and service providers as one global community. Membership is open to leaders of organisations and businesses involved in the international education industry.
ALTO brings together the world's leaders in the international education industry, all of whom have met their entry criteria. The association provides a global platform for leaders and decision makers within the language and educational travel industry to further develop and grow the industry through networking, professional development, and idea and information exchange.

Based on available information, ALTO member organizations must:
- Be leaders and decision makers of organizations involved in international education
- Meet ALTO's entry criteria for membership
- Be involved in language and/or educational travel
- Demonstrate leadership in the international education industry
- Participate in networking and professional development opportunities
- Adhere to ALTO Best Practice Guidelines
- Commit to working as true partners within the industry framework
Procédure de réclamation et d'arbitrage
ALTO has established Best Practice Guidelines that create a framework for organizations within the international education industry, where each acknowledges and accepts their reciprocal commitments to work as true partners. The ALTO Best Practice Guidelines were established by the ALTO Board after extensive research, consultation and input from various workgroups.
