À propos Languages Canada

Languages Canada is Canada's national language education association representing over 200 accredited language programs in both public and private institutions across 9 provinces and more than 180 study locations. The association's member programs teach Canada's two official languages, English and French, to Canadian and international students.

Founded in 2008, Languages Canada serves as a strong, united voice for Canada's language education sector. The organization advances policies, processes, and activities that help the country's English and French language programs thrive and ensure their students have the best possible experience. Languages Canada is dedicated to promoting Canada as the world's premier language study destination to students, agents, teachers, and government.

The association plays a crucial role in establishing internationally respected standards in the language education industry and works with federal and provincial governments to facilitate the entry and study of foreign students in Canada. Languages Canada is recognized by the Canadian government and international bodies as the voice of Canada's English and French language education sector.

Each year, the language education sector represented by Languages Canada contributes significantly to the Canadian economy by generating export revenues, creating jobs, and preparing international students for higher education in Canada.

### 2. Accreditation Requirements:

All Languages Canada member schools are required to be accredited under one internationally recognized and comprehensive scheme. The accreditation process examines six key areas:

  1. Student Services: Ensuring appropriate support services for students
  2. Teaching Staff: Verifying qualifications and professional development
  3. Curriculum: Assessing program quality and educational outcomes
  4. Marketing and Promotion: Reviewing ethical and accurate promotional practices
  5. Administration: Evaluating organizational management and operations
  6. Student Admissions: Examining admission policies and procedures

The accreditation process is administered by Orion Assessment Services, an independent body designated by Languages Canada. The process is rigorous, transparent, and confidential, with each level of review conducted by different members of a team of highly qualified professionals.

Procédure de réclamation et d'arbitrage

Languages Canada has established a formal Dispute Resolution Policy for addressing complaints and resolving disputes. The policy outlines procedures for:

  1. Handling student complaints against member institutions
  2. Resolving disputes between member organizations
  3. Addressing violations of the Languages Canada Code of Conduct

The association expects members to first attempt to resolve complaints at the institutional level. If resolution cannot be achieved, Languages Canada provides a structured process for escalation and mediation.

Additionally, Languages Canada maintains an eCAP (Emergency Contingency Action Plan) with a Student Emergency Assistance Fund (SEAF) Amendment to protect students in case of program closures or other emergencies affecting member institutions.
